MICRO-IMPLANT ANCHORAGE & LINGUAL PLAIN WIRE APPLIANCE SYSTEM
    Hee-Moon KYUNG, DDS, MS, PhD

There will be four lectures, of 1:30h each
Anchorage control is no less important in lingual orthodontic treatment than in traditional labially-applied systems. Classical forms of anchorage such as headgears can be used with lingual systems. Nevertheless, patients so concerned about esthetics that they choose a lingual appliance will not likely wear a headgear. Despite the best efforts from patients, anchorage loss occurs, and that has led to using of surgical mini-screws as sources of orthodontic anchorage. But the shape of surgical mini-screws is inconvenient to use them orthodontically. So, I have developed a variety of orthodontic micro-implants with differing designs. Moreover, recently I found that the standardized straight archwire system is possible in lingual side. The lingual straight archwire system with the newly designed orthodontic micro-implant system will reduce many difficulties in lingual orthodontic treatment. The combination of these two new systems will offer the ideal in esthetics and anchorage preservation. Here I would like to introduce both systems in this meeting.
